The Other Theatre Company produces literary-based plays, some well-known, some forgotten, and some not yet discovered. We believe that strong narrative and good story-telling are the keystones to good theatre. We aim to tell interesting stories, in interesting ways.

Derek Bond (Director/Producer)
Derek trained at the University of Birmingham, and with the National Theatre Studio.

He has directed: The Wonder! The Maids and The Censor for the OTC, Transmissions (Birmingham Rep), Edmund Burke by Jack Thorne (Floodtide Productions), 4:48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane (Article 19) and Dahling You Were Marvellous! by Steven Berkoff (Wisepart Productions). He is currently associate direcor on Cabaret in the West End, was staff director to Nicholas Hytner for The Alchemist by Ben Jonson and the UK and International tours of The History Boys by Alan Bennett (National Theatre), and assisted John Caird on Macbeth (Almeida Theatre). He has also assisted on productions of: Henry V, Much Ado About Nothing (Tour de Force), and Wild Lunch (Paines Plough).

  James Perkins (Designer/Producer)
James designed The Wonder! The Maids and The Censor for the OTC. Co-founder of design co-operative Blank Designs. Design credits include: Highway Crossing and On Raftery’s Hill (StageSpell Theatre Company); The Mikado, The Impresario and Mozart and Salieri (Charles Court Opera); Kaspar (Blank Designs); Julius Caesar (Blackheath Halls), One Day In The Future (Playbox Theatre), and Engineers Corset (Structures Theatre Company). 

   Sally Ferguson (Lighting Designer) 

For the OTC: The Maids (Etc Theatre). Fuge (Blue Elephant); Jack the Ripper (Jermyn St); Kaspar (Blank Designs) and several shows for Lost Dog dance company.
